If you like fine dinning put don't want to spend as much as a michelin star restaurant - Restaurant Schöngrün is your place. They have a wonderful garden at the backyard, perfect for long summer evening. In the front yard you have the entrance to the Zentrum Paul Klee which is a great art museum with pieces of Paul Klee and other exhibitions.

My third time going to this restaurant, very good experience overall when I come here. Last time we went we mentioned we would eat lunch and go to the museum and come back afterwards for dessert. We did just that and we came back and communicated that we were back for dessert, we were greeted with a frown by the same man, as he was preparing the tables for dinner, which would be 3 hours later, which apparently gets the priority? After this they put us in a room in the back and not in the greenhouse, he intentionally gave us German menus this time. We asked for the English menus and he didn’t know where they were and rudely asked us if we didn’t see the menu on their website, as if that was some sort of standard practice. And after I did check the website menu in English, the dessert selection I wanted wasn’t even there and neither was the cake of the day. Then the proceed to tell us the cake of the day in German and didn’t know the English word for it. Wow, did we catch this guy irritable with low blood sugar or what? This was a unnecessary experience, just because this guy clearly was annoyed that we came back for some reason and was irritable. Zero customer service experience with someone that clearly does not know how to behave cordially. I don’t know where this person comes from, but he clearly did not get sufficient training. I hope next time I am attended by someone else and not him.
