It's a rare museum experience when all elements fall into place so perfectly. El Museo de Bellas Artes of Cordoba (Fine Arts Museum) brings together location, beautiful surroundings, great exhibition space, history and a fine collection. Don't just visit for what is exhibited. Make sure to also focus on how and where it's exhibited. The museum is free for EU citizens and costs a Euro and a half for others. Yes, it's a small space, but it's well worth the visit.

Scam alert! The museum had a campaign on Rembrandt and Van Dyck outside so I went inside to check out since I adore Dutch Golden Age paintings. But there was nothing related to the two painters. And the museum staffs were chatting so loudly that they were even shushed by visitors. One star to great paintings of Julio Romero de Torres though.

A small museum showcasing local works. Worth a visit if you love art. €1.50 entry or free for European citizens. Be careful to go to the right museum. The person at the ticket desk, or rather near the ticket desk chatting to someone, told me to go inside to the right and insisted even when I asked again. That turned out to be the entrance to the Julio Romero de Torres museum which costs €4 payable only by card. It might be fine, but it wasn’t what I came to see. I went back to the first ticket booth and ended up getting an entry ticket to the museum of Fine Art which is what I came to see. It shouldn’t be that hard to enter a public museum. Some of the reviews here and the photos are actually about the Romero de Torres museum so I don’t think I’m the only one who has been directed to the wrong entry
